Supporting local food producers

Deddington farmer’s market has been quite a success story since it started in 2001. Despite the large nearby supermarkets in Banbury, Bicester and Kidlington, there seems to be an urge to shop elsewhere when it is convenient and good value-for-money. There are farms within a two-mile radius of Duns Tew that produce vegetable boxes, delicious pies and freezer cuts of meat. The Duns Tew village shop closed in the 1960s but could we do something in Duns Tew, using the Village Hall, for example, organising regular plant and seed swaps through the growing season, to share surpluses?

Yes

Unsure

No

Would you visit the Village hall to swap seeds and plants/vegetables or even excess home produce like jams and cakes?

Would you like to know more about the vegetable box schemes available in the village?
