Grant Finder in Oxfordshire

Grants for eco-renovation are constantly changing. Grants are available from Government, Local Government, District Government and Energy Suppliers and we will try to keep these up to date on our web site. The main number to call is 0800 512 012 . In addition there may be special discounts from suppliers or group discounts in your area which we may not be aware of.

Government Grants

Government Grants for energy saving improvements are currently limited to £2500 per household and your supplier will be able to advise you if you qualify. The scheme is administered by the Energy Saving Trust and further details appear on http://www.lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk/

Insulation grants are available to those on benefits through the Warm Front Scheme and full details of the conditions are available on http://www.warmfront.co.uk/

A grant of £1500 is currently available from NPower for the installation of an Ice Energy heat pump. Any other grants available will be advised to you by the supplier you choose.

British Gas offer free loft and wall insulation to those over 70 who are British Gas Customers see  http://www.britishgas.co.uk/

 

Energy Saving Trust

has a good "Grants and Offers" search at http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/proxy/view/full/2019/grantsandofferssearch where you can enter your postcode and find out what is available in your area. Alternatively call 0800 512 012

 

Oxfordshire

United Sustainable Energy Agency (formerly TVEC) promises advice on grants and all aspects of sustainable energy. They have taken over the work of Thames Valley Energy Centre but their web site is not fully operational as of July 2008. At present the information is available at Thames Valley Energy Centre.

Oxford City Council

Oxford Solar Initiative helps households through the energy saving options and the grants available http://www.oxfordsolar.org.uk/

Oxford City Council offer

  • home energy checks
  • Free insulation if your energy bills exceed 10% of your income
  • £75 council tax rebate if British Gas insulate your home
  • Advice on the Warm Front Scheme above

In addition they offer to Loft insulate or Cavity Wall Insulate for £109 inc vat. 0800 107 0047. Hurry to get this bargain.

   

South Oxfordshire

Makes available discounts on wall and loft insulation through the Big Green Insulation Scheme (now Cocoon)  http://www.southoxon.gov.uk/

Cocoon is a national advisory service which does not quote the discounts available locally though it claims to offer them.

West Oxfordshire

Promotes United Sustainable Energy Agency, Cocoon as above

Promotes USwitch to help you choose the best energy supplier in your area http://www.uswitch/ .com

 

Cherwell

Advice is promoted through United Sustainable Energy Agency (formerly TVEC)  who make available a solar water heating at discount through Solar Savers.

Cocoon is promoted as above and an addition £50 discount is available for over 65's.
