The first meeting of the Merton Climate Forum was held in the village hall oThe first meeting of the Merton Climate Forum was held in the village hall on the evening of Wednesday 16th May. A total of 18 people attended - mostly from Merton, but some also travelled from Charlton on Otmoor and Oxford. We had an inspiring and informative presentation by David Luscombe of Thames Valley Energy Centre (http://www.tvec.org.uk/) with ideas on domestic energy saving and information on the various grants available.

There was a lively question and answer session, with lots of people expressing interest in taking things
further - suggestions included holding future events, setting up an online forum for the exchange of ideas
and information, and the prospect of extending the initiative to other villages in the area.

An Inconvenient Truth

As a first step, we're going to be showing Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth in Merton Village Hall
later in June - details below. Just remember - these are open events. Anyone can come along, not just
residents of Merton. In the meantime, if you want to be kept informed on what's happening, please send
an email to fred.foxon@btinternet.com and I'll add your details to the mailing list.
