Oxfordshire's one word feelings on climate change

The initial survey feedback has been very interesting, and shows a clear need for just this type of project. The most popular one word feelings, from the first 245 web surveys, show that:

20% of people are concerned about climate change,

16% are worried

7.4% are scared, and

5% are frustrated .

Up to 5% of all respondents have responded with words such as uncertain, confused and sceptical.

Any questions? Any answers?

The questions which people want to ask have included ones focussing on what we can do, such as

  • What is the best way to motivate people to action?, and
  • How long will it take before people listen?

Many questions reflect frustrations in government, both national and international, such as

  • When will the UK finally come out of the shadows and lead the international community in tackling this issue instead of using China as an excuse for inaction? , and
  • Why is the governemnet doing nothing to encourage public transport (particularly trains, where companies seem to positively discourage customers), discourage air travel, and seem unaware of the possibility that we really need to be self sufficient in food in this country?

Some are questions reflect the need for more specific information, such as

  • What effects of climate change are we realistically like to see within the next 50 years?
  • How to incorporate migitgation alonside adaptation whilst still motivating change in individuals?
Keep your questions, and surveys coming!

We will try to respond to them with info, and specific answers, on these pages , and in the forums.

Respond to the questions in the Climate change question forum , and add your new questions.
