House Eco-renovations

1. ‘Victorian House gets its 100 year makeover ‘

Open house this weekend Sat 8 and Sun 9, 11am - 5pm

Holyoake Road, Headington is a normal 2 storey Victorian terrace house that has had its 100 year service, transforming its energy use and carbon emissions and making it fit for the 21st century. The major features have been retained, whilst excellent insulation, good heating system and low energy lights and appliances reduce carbon emissions by around 50%.

Climate Change group "Pledge and Plea" message to PM

 

Over 200 local people have pledged to do something personally to combat climate change.  Wantage and Grove Green People, the local community group campaigning to raise awareness of climate change have collected more than 200 "pledge and plea" letters over the last twelve months.  They now plan to send all the letters, containing nearly 400 pledges, to the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.
