ClimateXchange update #18

It's been a week of contrasts - aviation and climate change, hurricanes, and more locally the continuing aftermaths of the floods. Climate change causes and impacts are hot news. Find out the local angles, news and upcoming events below, or for some cooling down, check out this video:

Climate Camp, Climate change and Aviation

The Camp for climate action took place last week near Heathrow. There was a strong contingent from Oxfordshire there, giving workshops and taking part in awareness raising locally. Read one blog here . What did you think about how it was reported? What questions do you have about it?

A changing climate: business opportunity or economic nightmare?

A half day conference to raise awareness of the impacts and opportunities of climate change to local businesses and small and medium enterprises in Oxfordshire. Weds 31st Oct, see more details here.

O2 energy saver funds

The O2 energy saver fund is a joint initiative between O2 and the Energy Saving Trust, designed to help local communities of between 10-25 households to install energy saving measures in their homes. Applications need to be in by Aug 31st 2007.
