Cycle-path under threat

OK, it's not in Oxfordshire, but creating rapid transit bus routes over cycle paths on the most popular cycle route in the country could create a precedent.

The Bristol to Bath cyclepath is under threat. The West of England Partnership plan to use it a substantial chunk of it for a rapid transit bus route. This is the most popular cycle route in the UK with 2.4 million journeys per year. It is a busy commuter route for cyclists and at weekends is popular with families and less confident cyclists. Full info and online petition on http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ .
