**** Climate Change Day of Action - Saturday 17 October, Oxford City Centre 12 noon
During the weekend of 16-18 October millions of people around the world will stand up and take action to end poverty, marking 50 days before the global climate talks in Copenhagen begin. With the risk that climate change will make poverty permanent, we are inviting people to join us in Oxford city centre at 12 noon on Saturday 17 October, to set off alarm clocks outside St Michael at the North Gate Church on Cornmarket and send a powerful message that time is running out for the world's climate if we don't take action now.
Bring your noisiest clocks (or something that makes a good sound!) with you on the day and be part of a mobilisation of people standing up and taking action against climate change. Please do come if you can (at least five minutes before noon), or contact Amy if you would like further information at: oxford@christian-aid.org or telephone: 01865 246 818.
