The vast majority agree that climate change is happening now. Question 3: Are there negative consequences... here in the UK?
Over 75% expect some negative impacts of climate change to be felt in the UK. Question 4: When will you be impacted?
Over half of the respondents believe that they are already affected by climate change. Question 5: What is your attitude to climate change? The overwhelming response was one of frustration and fear, yet motivation to act. Question 6: Will there be any positives to climate change?
Over half of respondents believe there will be positive outcomes as a result of climate change. Question 6b: What are the most important opportunities arising from climate change? Note the three most important opportunities are parts of the solution to climate change: less waste of resources, better and more energy efficient homes, and a greater awareness of the way in which our everyday actions affect the lives of others. Question 9a: Where have you heard about climate change recently?
A fairly even spread of sources, with national media, the government, scientists and friends and family featuring most highly. Question 9b: Which sources of information about climate change do you most trust?
Scientists, charities and pressure groups, and friends and families, were the most trusted source of information on climate change. Question 10c: Is climate change becoming more of an issue for you?
For the majority, climate change had become an issue of greater importance over the last year. Question 10d: Can you personally help to limit the effects of climate change?
An overwhelming majority agreed or strongly agreed that their actions were effective to help limit the effects of climate change. Question 1: How do you feel about climate change?
Interestingly, and perhaps not surprisingly, the issue of climate change is concerning or worrying to most.
