Funding update and APE

Our initial funding was from DEFRA from the Climate Communications Fund - this has almost run out, and we're actively fund raising to continue our project. We've just been awarded our first grant from Artists Project Earth www.apeuk.org/ , which we're extremely grateful for. We'll keep you updated on more funding when it's confirmed.

Joining the Dots 2 - Oxon Climate Communities

Over 80 people crammed into Wolvercote Village hall for a gameshow -like start to the evening. We heard short reports from over 30 groups who are active on climate change locally, followed by intense networking and idea sharing. The website will shortly be updated to show the groups.

**Climate Change Bill Week of Action: Sunday 30th March - Saturday 5th April**.

The Stop Climate Chaos coalition is calling for a week of action to put pressure on MPs to
publicly pledge their support for a 'Climate Bill with Bite' .You can get everything you need to take part including Action Guides, Pledge Cards, Sample Letters from http://www.icount.org.uk/ .. For more info and links to local action see http://www.icount.org.uk/

We need to put pressure on politicians and convince them to bulk up the Bill even more before it becomes law, making sure the UK cuts the mustard when it comes to cutting emissions by:

  • Increasing the 2050 carbon dioxide reduction target from 60 to at least 80%
  • Ensuring the UK's share of emissions form international aviation and shipping are included in the reduction targets.
