Event: Sustainable Energy without the hot air

On: Monday 29th of June, 2009

From: 6:30 p.m.

Contact: Chris Goodall

Venue:

Blackwells Book shop, 48-51 Broad Street,
Oxford
OX1 3BQ (map)

Details: David MacKay, physics professor at Cambridge, has written a truly marvellous popular science book on renewable energy. (Sustainable Energy – without the hot air). I have met several people who have told me that it is the best book they have ever read. Certainly you’ll find the reviews on Amazon match any other book for the warmth of their enthusiasm. He has kindly agreed to talk at Blackwell, Broad Street, Oxford at 6.30 on Monday 29th. He will speak for a short time and then answer questions and comments. Having heard David speak before, I would guess that his material will be easily comprehensible to a GCSE candidate but also interesting to someone active in physics.
