This 18th century cottage has been extensively renovated to achieve 90% carbon savings, using innovative ecological materials and design. The house features: · Breathable natural internal insulation systems · Eco plaster board and paints · A hemp and lime new extension · Wood and biomass boiler for hot water and under floor heating · Solar hot water heating · Thermal mass floors to store solar heat. Come along for a tour of the house with the owner and be inspired with ideas to use in your home. Tours last 30 minutes. This house is part a network of older properties transformed to be low-energy exemplars and opened to the public through the Old Home Superhome Project from the Sustainable Energy Academy in partnership with National Energy Foundation.
