         
Event: Eynsham Apple DayEvent: Eynsham Apple Day On: Saturday 16th of October, 2010 From: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact: Sue Raikes Venue: St Leonard's Hall and Square Details: The first of what is hoped will become an annual event. Short presentations on apple identification,grafting, pruning, preserving/bottling/storing, sharing fruit recipes, cookery demonstration, pressing and juicing. Also competitions, food stall, apple sharing, mapping exercise to locate all fruit trees in the village, and the launch of a "Tree Sponsorship" scheme whereby people can sponsor a fruit tree to be planted in public spaces to be picked by anyone in the village for years to come. At 14:00 a tour of Eynsham's orchards, followed by a Cider Festival at the Queens. Contact Sue Raikes to help on the day. |
