'sex up' is unfortunately a metaphor for 'lie about' due to the UK government and the Iraq dossiers.

Here in Europe I kinda think we actually need to lower the profile of climate change, rather than amplify it. I like the idea of making it more technical and nerdy - like the pensions problem - rather than something hip and cool. The US is at a different phase in the debate - for them it probably is appropriate to try to raise awareness of the issue itself. Here that job is done. The next bit - thinking of ways of dealing with it - is kind of policy wonk-ish, I think.
