i think america gets a bit too much stick at the moment. they
use a lot of energy per person, granted. but they have a huge range
of environment to deal with. we come from a temperate island. we
don't even need central heating but we all have it! try telling
someone in arizona not to have air conditioning or someone in north
dakota they can't have heating. the fact is we in the UK are living
far more unsustainably the the US. our footprint is many more times
the size of our country the the US's is of theirs. additionally
they pump so much more money into energy technology than we do and
if the solutions come from anywhere it will be from america.
