I must confess to still using a car and thinking of getting a new, albeit secondhand, one. I want to know whether buying and old diesel and using biofuel when I can is really the best way forward.. or is there something I don't know about?

hello, funnily enough, I've just edited an article about
comparing the performance of various cars! there's a good link to
the vehicle cert. agency website where you can do this. the
article's called 'is your car a gas guzzler'- see Articles, Climate
info... hope that helps a little!

I am not involved in a project to create the greenest car yet.
The whole life cycle of the car from manufacturing, transport,
operation and recycling is being addressed by this new company. It
is a very exciting venture and one we are really happy about being
involved with.
The company has been founded by Gordon Murray
(see his wikipedia entry), who
formerly designed cars for Formula 1 racing but who is passionatel
focussed on producing efficient, elegant and practical cars.
His new cars will definitely fall into the budget price range
(less than £7000) and will also pay themselves off
within three years of operation.
I can't say more yet - but I'll keep you all posted :)
cheers,

thats all great.. but it always feels like the technology is
'just around the corner'.. if my old banger lasts perhaps I'll be
in time for the new generation.
love to know more about the overall 'greennes' of
biofuels....
