I like the idea of compressed-air cars for city use. It would help a lot if there are air-filling stations for this type of vehicle, which uses only air expelled at high pressure (or a hybrid engine) for locomotion. I've found a website that looks pretty good: www.carboncreditz.org It lets you earn points just by doing online shopping as usual, although you have to go via their website first. You can then spend creditz on their online shop or you can offset with a registered project. It is a really good website, it allows you to calculate your carbon footprint - I was really shocked with mine.
